It is used in perfumery to create or enhance fruity, floral, and herbal notes, especially pineapple, apple, chamomile, and orange. It has a relative odor impact of 130 and an odor life of 18 hours on a smelling strip12, which means it is a powerful and long-lasting aroma chemical. It is not found in nature and has no known biological or environmental effects.
